Human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV-1) is an enveloped, single-stranded RNA virus known to cause acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). The viral protein, p24, is the primary component of the HIV-1 viral capsid. Serum concentrations of p24 are high in the first few weeks after infection and can be used as a diagnostic target in the early stages of infection before HIV-1-specific antibodies are detectable.

This acrylic painting is 8" x 8" and 5/8" thick on stretched canvas.
